    * .name TLD?

    when did .name become a tld? i havent seen this one for a while

    It was introduced with the batch of TLD's in 2001 (.info, .biz, etc)

    According to IANA whois it was added to the root on 17-August-2001.

    Yeah, it has been around for a while. Apparently only for last names, though I doubt they're that tightly managed.

    second level .name was added JAN 2004 IIRC

    its meant for personal use and i think its not allowed to list .name in public for sale as per .name T&C if i'm not mistaken
