    Seo Friendly Knowledgebase

    Quick question.

Is the Cerebreus knowledgebase system search engine friendly?

Want the engines to see new content every time I am spidered.

    Thanks

    FULLAMHRD,

Could you give us a URL to somebody using this system. I have seen it in use, but I can't quite remember any Websites that use it.

If you could give me an example, I'll happily take a look and see how it is generated.

    Sure.

The cerberus website uses it. http://www.cerberusweb.com/support.php is an example

From an initial look, it seems it would be friendly enough to be indexed.

In fact, I did a quick search on Google for http://www.cerberusweb.com/support.php?x=&mod_id=2&id=9 and it appeared: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en...e+Search&meta=

It is friendly, but not as friendly as it could be with some mods and mod_rewrite rules to go along with it. Look at what people do on phpbb forums for SEO and you'll see what I mean.

If you are looking for a really nice knowledgebase try

    http://www.pineappletechnologies.com/products/lore/

It is called Lore and features great URLs, read that page for examples. We use it on ResellerGuide.com for our entire site and I know Site5.com uses it for their knowelege base too.

    Thanks, Ben

    thanks for the links.

I searched for the text from http://pineappletechnologies.com/pro...aa54072dbedc5b

linked from their main page. Comes up with nothing. Maybe not so spiderable?

Not sure what you are trying there, you can test my site out www.emuhq.com and resellerguide.com. Both are using it after I switched two weeks ago to it, emuhq.com is spidered to some degree but not completly...

    example of articles link:
    http://www.emuhq.com/idx/33/268/Atar...Jagulator.html
    Caregories
    http://www.emuhq.com/idx/12/0/Windows-and-Dos.html

    Seems pretty good to me...

Cereberus is not user friendly. Since their knowledgebase URL has &id= at the end. According to Google, URL with &id= will not be spidered. See (last one in technical gudeline): http://www.google.com/webmasters/guidelines.html

Don't forget ActiveCampaign's KnowledgeBuilder which is quite nice as well. It's around the same pricepoint as Lore.
