Quick question. I'm trying to share a folder of my network from a Win XP Prof. computer with others (the rest are not XP, the one I'm focusing on is a Win ME computer), but its not working. I've 'Shared' the file already, set a name, set it so that EVERYONE has all rights, and nothing. When I visit it on the local computer it shows up fine, but when I try to visit it from a remote computer (same network), it says I need to enter a password. Any suggestions?
Yup, I've tried that. The error message I get is attached. I've just realiszed as well that is says I'm trying to access the resource "IPC$", but should it be the share that I specified, in my case, "webcam"?
Well, I tried that. On my Win ME computer, its set to login to the network thing, but when ever I restart the computer is says:
What goes into domain? Or did I do something wrong. I've tried the domain as the win xp computers network name and tried logging in (the username as password are correct, I know that), the internal IP of the xp computer, the win me computer network name and internal IP and the workgroup name. All of these attempts have failed. Any ideas?
I was able to change the settings back so that I logged in normaly on the WIN ME computer (through the selective starup routine, just skipped process certain files). I still can't seem to get access to the WIN XP computer though, so I'm not going to worry about it anymore. Thanks for your help
