    New top level TLD

What will the cyberspace new tld be after all the .com domain finish, Iam really sure that in about approximately 20-40 years even the domain: lkdsrlsdfsd45dhoidsg45dfh4djhisdg65dfyh90dsgijk4ew87fgjlk43598.com will be taken & with a business running

So here i though, will there be a new tld like .com2 or .con or .comm or any other anusual character??

Who knows what they'll come up with to make money. And let's not forget that this is about making money. Do you really think all those ICANN employees lose sleep because people will have to remember and enter in longer and longer domain names in the future? Do you think that is why they are rolling out .xxx now and .info, .biz, .name, .pro. etc, .etc earlier?

This is an industry and eventually ICANN will milk every industry it can. We will probably have .MD, .VET, .TAX, .LAW, .STORE, .FOOD, .MUSIC, .AUTO, .PSYCHIC - they will probably take it as far as people are willing to follow and pay.

I think in 20-30 years the whole DNS will be changed

New TLDs are being made. Look at .biz, and .xxx . Both of these types of websites can fit on the .com tld. People will eventually start using these types of domains.

I think i saw a local used car dealership advertising their new website which is a .biz .

That is nonsense, with only 51 chars you have about 10^80 possible domain names. That is about the number of atoms in the whole universe, so even if you want a separate domain name for every particle in the universie you have enough with 51 char domain names... (of course it would be impossible to store those names because the amount of memory needed could never be realized with all atoms in the world...)

If you only use 7 char domain names, you have already about 95 billion possibilities... that should be enough for a while.

Subdomains could be a way out. If all .com are sold you can introduce .co.com or something else... Sounds stupid but as long as people want to pay...

I do not think we are going to run out of .com's in the next 20-40 years.

Like Soze explained, it is nearly impossible.

It was not just explanation but it was properly calculated also so we dont have to worry about that

Then can you imagine the owners of those domains (.co, .aa, etc) how much money they will make

TLD's like .biz and .info have been made all but useless.

I don't know about your network, but about 99% of all email that comes in from those TLD's are either spam, or other questionable types .. I wouldn't buy a name using either if they were all that were left

They're bringing out the subdomains .jobs and .travel soon, and thinking about ones such as .mp3. Soon enough there'll be TLDs for just about anything... as if ccTLDs and gTLDs aren't enough...
