Need advice for buying 2character domain..

I currently have a plan to open a short url redirecting service. The new top country level that came up not long ago still has almost 80% of 2 character domains empty.
I am stuck with a lot of choices, i will not say what the tld is (for some reasons) but i will replace it with ** in this post to cause no confusion.

    Iam currently stopped with
    vv.**
    uu.**
    nn.**

Can anyone tell me if you were in my place, which one you have chosen & which one is the best & easier to remember?
There are alot of choices almost all, you can suggest me an alternative too
    Thanks

It would really depend on the tld and how they sound together.
Otherwise I'd suggeest a 2 letter combo that related to your re-direct service such as rd.** re.** url.** or a 2 letter combo that could be short for something.

From a designer point of view I would go with the vv, you have options and room to play with the design and logo.

It doesn't matter what tld you choose for redirecting purposes as long as you can change nameservers without any hassle and the updates around the globe doesn't take too long. Also as virginia suggested keep the domain simple and it shouldn't be too vague and creepy for example consider redirecting domain for Green zap.com they use up0.net developed by Uptilt, Inc. Uptilt.com. If Paypal start using such domains for redirection obviously I won't be reading their next newsletter links starting with that domain.

It's difficult to say as we don't know the new TLD, or is it a ccTLD?
I ask because it would be unusual for a TLD, even it's a new one,
that 80% of 2 char domains are still untaken. With some ccTLDs
you can still get cool 2 char domain names without problems.

Very cool are combinations like (already in use) go.to, has.it etc
Something like this is easy to remember and sounds good.

I would probably go with the vv.** version. I can envision that would make a nice logo.

But thats not the main thing havong a logo, since it is a short url service, it must be easily remembered & typed.

But years ago on Saturday Night Live, we learned from ‘Fernando’ (AKA Billy Crystal) that “It is better to look good than to feel good”.

Logos are important to get people to use the service.

In addition, the letter "V" kind of reminds me of "power" associating it with V8 engines. It is also often used to designate shorthand for "victory." Both of these are positive references.

Now, like OnLine163 said, you could try to have it "say" something that would make it easier to remember. For example, if the country code that you're talking about was .it, then I would probably pick uu.it because it kinda says something making it easier to remember.

    Chinese people like numeric URLs

But without knowing the TLD it's difficult to say
what domain name sounds cool and is easy to
    remember.

Why not tell us the TLD? I doubt that the 80%
still available 2 char domains will be registered
within 24 hours after you have posted it here
    on WHT
