Where did you get that idea? I'm just wondering, because I have absolutely no idea.

Considering that 50% is porn and 48% is kiddie hosts that leaves 1-2% for gaming and actual content... lol j/k

Maybe if you read what I wrote you'd get some sort of clue on things, and why I said 1-2%. I'll repeat for you if you wish.

My guess would be 1-2 % at the most

Maybe if you'd read what I wrote, you'd get some sort of clue, as well:

Where did you get that idea? I'm just wondering, because I have absolutely no idea.
Just for your reference, the definition of idea:

Something, such as a thought or conception, that potentially or actually exists in the mind as a product of mental activity.
I was simply wondering where and how you conceived of your guess of "1-2%".

I got that IDEA wihch was a GUESS from my BRAIN. I thought it up (which is the definition of idea) and then typed it down. Thank you.

Thank you. I was simply wondering where, if anywhere, you got that figure.

It doesn't, that picture simply shows how much possible gaming could occur (and on a very broad range) on the The Planet network. Im sure torrents/warez/porn outweigh everything by a mile. And next would probably come simple web site browsing/chatting/e-mail etc..After that, I am unsure.

Actually, games can also be delivered over HTTP traffic.

For example, I used to mirror game installers for publishers (legally), and I easily go to and maybe even over 500GB of bandwidth per month with just two small titles. And not to mention the text based / simple games that can be played via telnet/ssh/browser as well as flash/shockwave games that are delivered through sites such as miniclips and newgrounds. Also, not to mention, not a single large game publisher I know / have worked with have any server housing their game servers in TP for some weird reason >.>

I would personally like to think that games in general (IE: mmog, flash games, browser based games, muds, etc.) take at least 25 to 35% of the internet traffic. Simply because all of us here at one point have played a game of some sort over the web one way or another. And every single person that's connected to the internet have also done the same... and quite a large group of them are 'regulars' who sits home all day just to play games (look at the member base of games such as World of Warcraft or Neopets and stuff like that, each have over few million user base >.>)
