Invision board eating too much resources

    Hi everybody,

first of all I apologize for my poor english.

I have a big problem: I have a shared hosting with dreamhost, and I'm actually running an Invision Board with 1777 members, but only 100 that post regularly with an average of 20 users online. My database takes 200MB space and my forum has 9565 topics. This forum uses about 10000 "cpu seconds" per day, which is unacceptable for dreamhost. Friends of mine, that run forums as large as mine, don't have such problems, so I think that my IPB version has got problems. Can anyone tell me if I am right or such a board would need a VPS solution?

What version of ipb do you have, 2.0.4 is the newest.

Have you tryed optimizing MySql? Apache? Php? http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/optimize-table.html

I refer u to these topics to help you with optimizing you're ipb:

This one actually shows you how to optimize the ipb script by editing some: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...=ipb+resources

I'm in a shared hosting environment, I can't do such optimizations

I already read those topics before, but I already did everything to get the usage down... I disabled everything I could disable, but this didn't improve my ipb's cpu performance...

If its eating many resources, maybe a corrupted script?

Maybe, but how do I find which is the one causing problems?
