No, right now it is just VISA/Mastercard/AMEX for signing up and then PayPal is an option for recurring payments.
So you're required to use two different payment methods - one for signup and one for recurring? Hmm, seems kind of strange to me...

The order form simply isn't coded to accept PayPal payments. Being able to pay via PayPal for recurring payments is simply a side effect of the billing system providing support for it. I'm a little wary of those that claim to only be able to pay via PayPal as most anyone is capable of aquiring a debit/credit card and PayPal themselves provide a debit card tied to PayPal funds.

Wary?

Well no offence but why?

In the UK, it is fairly common to have a debit card, and these are linked to a ban account. For a credit card you have to be older and have credit rarings etc.

Therefore, most people can use paypal to pay as it takes it from there bank account, but many people do not have a credit card needed for your fee.

Hope this helps you

But still your debit card probably would carry a Visa or MC logo, so you could use it directly (not through Paypal). Even if it is electronic only (like Visa Electron).

A debit card does not have a MC logo.

And the number of the debit card does not work as the number of the Creditcard.

No, there is a big and important difference between a credit card and debit card. In reality, the only similiarity is they look the same but in fact are very different.

A debit card will not work as a crdit card as they work completely different on different systems.

Well, I know the difference, but all I am trying to say is that if your debit card has a VISA or MC logo you can input your 16 digit number and exp date and the system will not complain.

My US debit card (yes, the funds come out of my checking account) has a VISA logo and I use it throughout the web without any problems.

Maybe UK is different (with Switch and stuff), but I used to have a Polish debit card with VISA logo and it worked fine everywhere I tried.

Most UK debit cards are based upon Switch/Solo (which is now called Maestro).

Maestro is owned by Mastercard, and they have similar logos, HOWEVER they are not both compatible. A store must explicitly accept Switch/Solo/Maestro. Check out http://www.maestrocard.com/
