    * EXTREMELY GENERIC word domains: these.ca, their.ca, wrote.ca

I have a few domains for you:

    these.ca
    their.ca
    wrote.ca

Before you put a value on them, think of these things:

1.)'These' is one of the most used words in the English language

2.) 'Their' is a pronoun. There are only a handful of pronouns in the English language, thus, this is the second-rarest type of word (the articles are #1, since there are only 3 articles in English).

3.)'Wrote' is a generic word but it's limited to literature and things associated with writing (unless someone decides to be creative with this).

4.) They are all .ca, which is lower in value than a .com but it's still of value, seeing that .ca is a major country and it has huge ties with the US (both alo share borders).

    Any ideas?

I doubt any of those domain names listed above are really worth more than $20. Why would someone buy domain name these.ca or their.ca? I do not really get the point

I don't think either of you understand the rarity of the words. I received 3 pieces of feedback from NamePros. As you can see: http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?p=641544 Some ppl can see the value in these and some can't.

Why have the words been searched over 4 million times so far this month? It's strange, isn't it? their.ca might sound worthless to you but it sure has had a lot of searches for the term.

No one searched for their.ca 4 million times.

    "Their" only has 4073.

Please show me how their is searched 4million times a month, and where you get these stats.

I cannot imagine someone just going to google and type "their".

    ?

    That?

    Well,

Enter a Keyword and press enter keyto estimate how many true users have searched the term on Google this month.
Also, typing in just "their" into google gives

    http://www.dartmouth.edu/~sources/

Anyway, that estimator is not just the word their. It has to be like

    "their children"
    "their money"

    Not just their.

I understand what you mean. I don't deny it-it sounds pretty stupid to just go to Google and search for 'their.' I mean, why would anyone search for that simple word?

But you are underestimating human stupidity and the fact that there are thousands (millions, probably) of people who are new/have rarely ever used the Internet whop go online each day. Lemme tell you something: I'm affiliated with a company for paid search (searchtraffc.com, I think it is). They wouldn't allow me to place an Internet search box on my site because it had the value "Search the Internet" in the search field. Accoding to the company, they receive far too many searches for the phrase 'search the internet.' "Yeah, people are really that dumb," they told me.

So it's no wonder that there are over 2 million searches for 'their' on Google. Sounds rather stupid-even I agree-but people aren't as smart as you and I--not everyone, that is.

The beauty of the domains is in the fact that they are not only one-word but that they are 1.) pronounds, a rarity to find and 2.) easy to remember. Do you seriously know anything about domain valuation? SRHSDWTHEVWR.com would be worth thousands if people could actually remember that horrid thing. My domains are of the easiest to remember and they are among the most used words in English. I'm not trying to be mean but if you think a domain such as these.ca or their.ca varries a $20 price tag, you really have no place in domain investment.

SRHSDWTHEVWR.com is rare word as well as you say it. Can you please inform us, why would a person purchase their.ca? What are they going to use it for?

Let's wait and see how the auction ends at ebay.

Like I said above, it's memorable-it's one of the most used words in English. Why wouldn't anyone want such an easy-to-remember domain?
