raid on fileserver on lan failed...

We had a slight power drop (you know, when the lights go dim, then go back bright) for about 1 second.....

since then /proc/mdstat has shown /dev/hde1 as down. and /dev/hdg1 as still online

i have rebooted the server and both drives are still fine..... and i can mount both drives seperatly to a folder on the server with no problems....

and i get no drive errors when linux boots...

but the raid isn't coming back up, after i boot it. It still says that /dev/hde1 is down.

i know the drive is fine.... anyone have any idea how to bring it back online?

    im using raidtools

i have tried main raidtools but there is no man file for it :/

assuming your raid device is md0, raidhotadd /dev/md0 /dev/hde1. If you have mdadm its mdadm --manage -a /dev/md0 /dev/hde1. It's always a good idea to backup the data on your array before adding/removing devices.

    thanx....

i did that..... it sunced back up, but about 4 hours later the drive is back down.... so i guess the drive is faulty....

i will buy another two drives, make a new array, and copy the data from the one remaining good drive.

    Thanx for your help.
