    Question Which ASP host? - radicalv.com or vortechhosting.com ? - Please help?

    Hi guys,

The host I am currently using has let me down - I wont bore you all with the details.

I have been trying to find a reliable host for several days offering ASP, PHP, Spam filtering, Anti Virus, Statistical software I can email to clients, web mail access and other flexible additions. So far with some of the guys here I have come up with three hosts that I think offer the best options for me. If any of you guys know of any others then please post away.

    ----------------------

    radicalv.com - RLW-2000 Account - $34.99/mo - Disk Space - 2000 MB - Monthly Bandwidth 30 GB

    vortechhosting.com - Cypher Account - $35.00/mo - Disk Space - 3000 MB - Monthly Bandwidth 60 GB

    ----------------------

I may have more questions however I may email the firms directly.

vortechhosting.com - seems to be the mostly likely choice but the fact I cant see any information on Anti-Virus Scanning may sway me to radicalv.com.

I very much look forward to responses...

    Doc.

The h-sphere system includes spam and virus filtering, so most all h-sphere hosts would fit your needs.

For stats all would have webalizer and awstats on a Windows platform. Urchin costs are additional so I'm not sure if either offer that program.

    Thank you for your responce.

I was hoping to find a host running Smater Stats (smartertools.com)

Still looking to h-sphere as I was used to HELM.

On an h-sphere system, the best stats you are likely to find are Urchin - for those that offer it.

Urchin tends to be pricey, but, it is one of the best stats programs available..

I know serverdivision.com uses Smarter Stats.

Have you considered DIYHosting, Server Division or JodoHost?

I'm considering all those, some are cheaper. But I don't know really which one to choose yet.

What criteria are you using to select them?

    Cheers.

    Thank you for your response.

I will not use DIYHosting - Sadly each time someone is critical of DIY their posts are removed without any reason.

JodoHost - thanks for this - I will have a read.

    Criteria:

Price is not the big concern however ability to deal with problem under pressure is! Features are very import but apart from Emailing stats most offer the same features and inline with their pricing. This is what I have looked for if they have what I require.

1/ Statistics - with email feature
2/ Features - most have what I require
3/ Support - when and how etc - I have even tried a couple some very good others very bad.
4/ Speed they respond to emails - under pressure

I was also looking at three European firms.

If anyone has any info please let me know:

www.38h.com -heard very goods things about this firm
www.fasthosts.co.uk - not so good about this firm
www.1and1.com - and mixed response on this firm

serverdivision.com is bloody cheap, but I do think price should never be the no.1.

See what happened with me as a former winlogical (now said taken by serverdivision) customer!

WebHostingTalk is owned by iNET Interative, not DIYHosting. Removal of posts on this forum are at the sole discretion of it's moderators. DIYHosting has absolutely zero say in what happens at these forums.

If you are found to be in violation of the rules of this forum, or if a moderator feels your post should be revmoed for reasons only known to them, then posts are removed. This stands for every member, old and new.

For you to say every bad comment about DIYHosting on this forum is removed, is just pure nonsense.

I'd suggest to you that if you have question about a removed post, you should contact the moderators.

Simon - yet again you have misquoted me and yet again you are attempting to mislead others by misquoting me.

    I said and I quote:

"I will not use DIYHosting - Sadly each time someone is critical of DIY their posts are removed without any reason"

Importantly responsible non argumentative hosts would reframe from starting arguments in these forums yet you allow yourself to be seen negatively be posting confrontational and argumentative posts. Not the right and proper thing to do if you want to be seen as a responsible host.

Really you must learn to read other peoples posts - I did not say bad so please stop misquoting me. My post above is in black and white for one and all to read.

    There's nothing misquoted about it.

To say "Sadly each time someone is critical of DIY their posts are removed without any reason" is wrong, dead wrong.

Posts are removed on which forum? DIY or WebHostingTalk?
As Doc Hudson is not a member of the DIYHosting forum, and as we have do not delete ANY posts on our forum, that would leave one option; wht.

I have to agree with IHSL here, WHT mods don't remove posts in 99% of the cases and I don't think IHSL can remove them him self here. lol

Your posts were removed because you hijacked a thread where someone wanted feedback of member's experience with DIY and Site5, you clearly have not been hosted by them, but continued to troll the thread until mods had no choice but to remove your disruptive posts.

Not true. Here's some threads (from a quick search) with some negative comments in them, that have not been removed -

Yes, I understood it perfectly, as you claiming diyhosting gets negative posts from WHT removed, which the above threads prove otherwise.

    Just a point of clarification.

Man what is it with WHT and me, every post with my name or domain in it even if I don't have anything to do with it seem to go right to HELL... Grrr...

I have never hosted with DIY for obvise reasons, but I have to say they are still ok guys. I don't like JodoHost much but DIY is ok, I have also never hosted with JodoHost ether but still don't like the guy.

I have been an ODP editor for five years and never seen such amateurish modding than on here. Someone complains and you remove a post without any justification only commercial undertones to save grace for future business opportunities.

A basic exercise in comprehension is called for here - the idea of a public forum is to share your experience or views - not to insult or defame - a very childish and certainly unprofessional response. I used to come to WHT alot however now its become more commercialised I am starting to get a little sick and tired of wannabe rack stars - you know the sort like to think they know it all when really they don't know zip - I certainly wouldn't pay to be a premium member - I would however be very embarrassed not to be able to make an articulate judgement call on removing a post.

You just don't seem to get it, do you, Doc?

Wow. ODP editor for 5 years. I guess we should all be really impressed.

The point is that if you troll in a thread, you will be edited/deleted/penalized. And clearly, you have some personal agenda to badmouth DIY. Why? Because they did not succumb to your pre-sales threats?

Grow up, man. You're embarrassing yourself.

Embarrassing myself ? - you resort to name calling and promote the following:

DemoDemo.com - The pioneer in Flash tutorials for web hosts - since 2002
Netasis.com - The true visual experience.

We are aware that you like DIY - perhaps you are on a commission for attacking anyone who stands up to their unprofessional behaviour. Give it a rest we really don’t want to hear your slander and insults. Moreover you never have anything constructive to say - another one that likes the sound of his own voice..

Wow. You just dig yourself deeper and deeper into that hole, don't you? If your only defense is making silly and unfounded accusations, you should rethink your strategy. It ain't workin'...

But hey, it's been a slice having you at WHT. Me thinks that if you insist on being a troll, your stay here will be relatively short lived.

If you knew Vito, you'd realise how completely untrue and uncalled for, that comment is.

I was asked if I have checked out DIY - I gave my short response I could have been very critical but I wasn't.

    And all of a sudden this thread has filled up with T R O L L S!
