Hello,

Anybody has experience in separating web server from data storage ?

I´m interested to deploy web server in one machine , and data stored in a secondary machine or external disk .

you can use NFS or SMB between the boxes, or if you want external disk you could do external scsi, a san, i-scsi, there are a number of solutions.

What is it exactly that you are trying to achieve?

Take a look at CODA. It's a network filesystem (similar to NFS) however is caches files and should provide a better performance than NFS for your application.
