    Question Google

no longer bothers you if you search for words like i, it, is, the and more.

    is this a new thing?

would it provide more or less accurate results?
<erno> hm. I've lost a machine.. literally _lost_. it responds to ping, it works completely, I just can't figure out where in my apartment it is.

I never noticed this before! I must say I’m rather pleased they’ve done this. For the most part I think it would offer better / more accurate results.

I wonder when they did this?

I think it changed a wee while back and I for one think it does provide more accurate results. Sometimes you specifically want to use shorter and commonly occurring words in a search (without searching for exact matches).

I think its an improvment on search results.

It's always done that. Nothing new.

No it hasn't. It used to specifically exclude those types of connecting words/letters.

You used to be able to search for those words if you put them inside quotation marks.

The thing is it has always effected the way results come up. If you typed I want web hosting or something vs. want web hosting - different results would come up.

That was when they said it was omitted.

    Odd huh?
