    Half Co-Location/Half Managed

    Hello,
Does anyone know of a provider that can provide me with this. I send in a tower server, and they manage it. I pay for managing fees. But, I don't get on a slow line, I"m still on their fast connection. I would get a bandwidth allowance of 1000GB.

    Anybody help me out?

Well, it's gotten to the point where I'm so desperate that I'm not even asking for my server to be managed anymore.

I am sure many would do that.. just have to negotiate up front exactly what you want in management. If you want to never worry about anything its just handled its very possible just costs a bit more.

I don't want it to be managed anymore. I've found someone who can give me a good price to manage it. Does anyone know of anybody that will co locate but will not put me on a extremely slow connection?

Where are you at? What area? Most people want to be near their server.

I live in the midwest. I just want to get this deal done with and stop have to keep looking around and emailing sales for people who offer this. Server can be far, far away, I don't mind that much. However, it's a tower server.

So, it's barely co location. It will be a part of the hosting companies server. I still get security, speed, and whatnot.

    Try InetServices in Boston

They should be able to do this at a decent price on a great network as well.

I'm having a real hard time with this. Everyone who I emails either says sure, check out our co location page, or just doesn't respond to my emails. They don't seem to understand. I emailed InetServices and am waiting their response. Gnax sounds a little confused also.

I can't do it!!! It's impossible. I might as well just go with dedicatedplace.com.

fordguy, what make it so hard for these colo providers to accept your server? Is there anything special on your colo request? What is your budget?

The fact that he thinks that most colo providers use slow lines and the fact that he wants 1000GB of bw makes me think he is slightly confused about what to expect from colo.

    What about this:

    http://iweb.ca/en/index.php?page=col...tenu=coloTower

Can anyone here beat that price? My managing fees will cost $45. And what's this:

That means your server would be connected with a 10Mbps ethernet port, but you can upgrade to a 100Mbps port.

Okay. Is that a good price? I need a cheap yet reliable colo. I'm looking at this forum now:

    http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...light=cheapest

None of them really appear to beat iweb.
