direct admin on 64bit linux? having problems with it

I am having problems with direct admin on 64bit linux. apache and php are missing, and they won't reload. mysql won't start.

so i am going to install xxamp/lamp and just use webmin as my panel. do i need to remove direct admin? because it has some things already installed which xxamp installs (like proftp, perl, and some other stuff). or can i just install xxamp and not worry about that?

Also, 64-bit OS's are not supported at this time.
also it is better to install panel in clean OS install.
