Thank You All!

First, thank you Interjuncture for putting together and running an exceptional event! From the signup process, lunches, floor, speakers, and every other aspect it was well executed. Thanks to all of the speakers who took the time to share their knowledge with all of us. I was not disappointed with a single talk that I attended. Thank you ModernBill, BluePay, PingZine, and Stargate for one heck of a party! It was great to meet some of the faces behind the email address that I have used for the last five years. The party was a blast! Last but definitely not least, thanks to servercentral and interjunture for what felt like an after hours party even though it started at 7:00pm? I think that we showed up at 9:30pm “30 minutes before it was over” and hung out until 12:30am. I am glad the hotel didn’t shut down the party. I can’t wait to do it again. TEAM will definitely have to join up with some of you for throwing a party next year! I will also make sure that I can stay the entire two days!

Wade,

Thank you for the kind words, they are truly appreciated. While it was a crazy few days for us, we had a great time meeting every one and putting on the event.

As for the Server Central/Interjuncture party... why 7pm? Well, a couple of reasons. We were concerned if we put it on too late after the close of the exhibit hall that people would have already found other things to do. Also, we wanted to make sure we didn't go too late because it was on Monday night and HostingCon was still going on the next day.

I was commenting on the fact that it felt like 2am at 7pm! The two parties before got the best of me. I think that the "Server Central/Interjuncture party" successfully made it a rough day for everyone. Thank goodness for the complementary breakfast! All it was wonderful and I hope everyone makes it back safely!

I'd just like to throw a thanks out there on our behalf as well to everyone that made HostingCon happen. Clint and I were only able to make it up Monday night and Tuesday-day before driving back to Bloomington, but it was great to finally meet so many of you in person that we'd only previously spoken to over the internet / phone.

Thanks to Wade and Mark for the breakfast Tuesday morning, and a big thanks to the FastServers people for everything! I've also got to say the FS poker tables were great in keeping everyone social and helping us get through the last leg of the conference Tuesday after all the exhibit hall sights had been seen. Lastly, as I sit here in my new Steadfast Networks t-shirt, I'd like to thank all of the other exhibitors that went all-out with their promotions; I don't think I'll ever need to buy another t-shirt, pen, or coffee mug ever again.

To many of you, we'll be in touch with you again soon, and to everyone else, we hope to see you there again next year!

It was an amazing event kudos to the entire HostingCon staff for a job well done. It's about time the industry had an event like this! An additional thank you to all everybody who attended our event at LEVEL. Look forward to next year!

I'd like to say thanks to HostingCon. I met a lot of people and had a lot of great conversations there. I wish I didn't have to head back Tuesday morning to take care of things... I was looking forward to the FastServers party.

HostingCon inspired me to come back to HostingCon after a 1343 day absense! I've got a lot of catching up to do here.

Glad you like the shirt enough to wear it, hopefully you go out and walk around with it on a lot as well :-)

First, on behalf of the entire ModernGigabyte team, I want to thank all of those who came and made our event a huge success. For those of you who weren't in our packed outing, you missed a huge oppurunity to network. The leaders of all the major control panels were there including SW-soft (thanks for dinner), Ensim (great speech on the direction of the industry), Cpanel (busier than all getout the last 5 minutes of the show), and Interworx (great debut). We also had the management teams from the Planet, 1 and 1, Team, and Sago. If you were ever looking to make a contact with those guys, it was a huge opportunity. We want to thank our great partners at Tom and Gary from StarGate and Brad and Tim from BluePay for helping put on the event and to Keith from PingZine for promoting it.

Next year will require way more space as this event was packed to the max. We look forward to seeing you there.

I did want to take a moment to conmment on the underlying theme that came out during the show and to see if everyone else agrees. From time to time, we here people say that the market is saturated and that it is tough going to enter this business. They are dead wrong. This business has just started to find its legs and to figure out how the industry should be marketed. It is true that the market is saturated with companies that are simply copycats to what they perceive to be successful business plans. It will be the innovators in the market place who succeed. It will be the folks who look for the next great opportunity that will succeed. And many of those opportunities were described during HostingCon.

As an industry, we must (MUST) concern ourselves not with competing over the few customers in a given marketplace, but with expanding the marketplace itself. We have merely touched the tip of the iceberg on this opportunity. Those that can break through the clutter have a tremendous opportunity that has no current end in site.

[step down from soap box]

At any rate, thanks to all of those who attended, visited with us, ate our fortune cookies and won prizes. We can't wait to meet with you again.

Jon McCarrick, Marketing Director

Great post Jon and completely agreed. The market isn't neccessarily saturated, but you have to be willing to expand and focus on something other than the WHT market.

Kudos to George and the InterJuncture folks for a great show. I know there was some initial skepticism about turnout but from the numbers we saw the show was an obvious success.

It was nice to finally match faces with names. We've been communicating with some of you for years now (ModernBill, Fastservers etc) and it was great to finally see you in person.

I'd like to also thank all of those who took time out to attend my session on Automation. 30 - 40 minutes isn't much time but hopefully the general ideas came across.

While I haven't been gone as long as HRJohn I do hope I can get in here more often and post.

Thanks to all again.

Chris

Very well said indeed. I look out onto my target marketspace, and see nothing but fields ready for harvest!

I should have done the drive from Houston to Chicago. I went broke getting back to Houston from Calcutta!

I'll be sure to make it next year! Looks like you folks had a great time.

Cheers,
Roj
