I haven't done calculus yet, but do you have a graphing calculator, like a TI-83 or something? Just stick it in there. That's what a calculator is for. Okay, I guess this is the easy way and defeats the whole purpose, but are you going to be allowed to use calculators on your test?

That's not how it works, you cant put in the Principal value of Cosine nor
    Sine into the calculator

I hadn't even known what a "principal value" was until I just read up on it -- and I still don't fully understand it. Perhaps that's because I haven't had calculus class yet (will have it in another two years) and don't know even a bit of it.

Offhand I don't recall any special formulas for this kind of problem. It is basically as SniperDevil said, although if you could do it without a calculator that might be better.

First you need to find the values of arccos (-1/2) and arcsin 2. In other words, the cosine of what angle equals -1/2 and the sine of what angle equals 2?

Well, the cosine of 120 degrees equals -1/2. But the sine of all angles must be between 0 and 1, so there is no angle for which the sine is 2.

So, as far as I can tell, this problem has no answer.

    I hope that helps.

Should have asked a discrete math question. I'd be able to help you with that.

It's been so long since I have done these kinds of problems, that I don't remember how. However, I am pretty sure that this is trigonometry and not calculus. I don't see any integrals or derivatives here.

    arcsin(2) is meaningless. See

    The others aren't too hard.
