when i go to JOMAX.NET it resolves to godaddy's homepage.. does that mean this website is hosted by godaddy??

Well, the whois info for jomax.net is

Doing a little further digging, the jomax.net domain resolves to IP 64.202.188.201, and the info for that IP shows

    NetRange: 64.202.160.0 - 64.202.191.255
    CIDR: 64.202.160.0/19
    NetName: GO-DADDY-SOFTWARE-INC

Here is a phone # and email addy for their abuse dept:

    OrgAbuseName: Abuse Department
    OrgAbusePhone: +1-480-505-8809

Check your PM... I dont think jomax.net is affiliated with GoDaddy but GoDaddy is likely a good source to start with the complaints. Do a whois on the IP address that the site is hosted on and report it to the IP block owner as well.

In a case of child porn - I'd be willing to bet they wouldn't mess around with something like that. The private registration won't protect him from something like this.

Make sure you take screenshots of his site before you email them so there's hard proof and they can go after this guy and throw his disgusting *** in jail.

ok thats a good idea.. i will do so.

the website is in Arabic! English people wont have a clue what the site is about just by looking at it... its a VB forum.

I'm 100% sure that the forum script is pirated so if i report them to VB that might be a good enough reason to close the site if they can do so from a distance. but we don't want it to close until they get the guy.

Anybody who speaks a little of Arabic will read the names of the forums and the topics.. you won't be able to see any content until you register.. so unfortunetly I had to register and supplied godaddy with the log-in information so they can see the stuff easily...

GoDaddy's abuse department consists of professionals in dealing with these sorts of things; they will most definitely investigate the matter and, if they find anything illegal, will probably alert the authorities and obviously drop him.

    Good luck!

BTW, jomax.net is just another one of GoDaddy's domains, and I think some sites who use GoDaddy's hosting service have their name servers pointing to jomax.net.

The actual website in question is in facted hosted by GoDaddy.

A quick point of clarification, just because jomax (GoDaddy) is listed as the DNS provider does not mean that GoDaddy is hosting the site.

In this case, they are in fact, hosting the site. Hopefully they will pull it down shortly and provide the account information over to law enforcement.

I never said it did mean that. However, when GoDaddy is just hosting a site's DNS, the name servers will usually show up as "PARKXX.SECURESERVER.NET", where "X" is a number.

    Peace,
How do you know whether that story is actually true or not? For all we know, the poster could have been a child porn addict/surfer/user/distributor.

It could be true & it might not be true. One thing to keep in mind - he went thru a lot of child porn websites. As far as I know, you have only gone to one website - report it and let it be.

Yes - there is a fine line about going to hundreds of child porn websites every day to report them or to view them. And plus it the admin states:
All of our reports are directly sent to the governing agency of which country you choose in the submit a site.

If you or your father would read several of the post here, we have warned you not to search CP, for any reason, Its illegal.

RCP does not keep a database of reported sites.......

    GUESS WHY????

    Thats right, its ILLEGAL

Your father is going to jail, because he searched CP.

    NOT because he reported it.
So it does not seem like you are doing anything illegal unless you are searching for child porn.

Yep. At that level, one begins to question the motives of this person's supposed "need" to track down and report child porn sites. Perhaps he, himself, gets something personal out of it, the implications of which are obvious, before simply sending it off to these organizations. I doubt the FBI would be so unfair and unjust if he were totally legitimate and helped them, rather than doing something illegal himself. On the other hand, you never know, especially if this incident took place recently. There may be some clause in the Patriot Act which law enforcement -- federal, state, and local, alike -- often use now (or, at least, used in his case) to arrest and charge suspects of domestic crimes without warrants and due process.

I once reported childporn (baby porn! Sick MFz!) to the right goverment agancy. After 2 weeks the site was still online.
I was so mad that I research everything about the site (owner, IP etc etc) and took all the papers to the goverment office.

When the site was still online 2 weeks later. I called them again and instead of solving the problem, I got

"Sir, if you are reporting this, that means you have revisited the site more than once in the last few weeks. This is against the law. If you call again, the law says that we must arrest you. Have a nice day"

    That really pissed me off!!!

Wow, just wow! I would never go out of my way to search for child porn, but if I get spam promoting a site, I will copy/paste the link (NEVER click a link in an email, as referral logs can show how you got there and that brands you as someone who responded to their spam and makes you a live wire ripe to move up to an "A list" of hot prospects).

If the site is still live (and often it isn't because someone's already gotten it taken down), I check the IP to see where it's hosted. Outside the U.S. the FBI can't do squat, but I do recall searching once until I found an agency in South Korea, they never responded to my email, but the site hosted there was gone in short order.

Then I look at the IP where the spam email originated and complain there. I also look at their payment options. Even if the site itself is hosted in another country where the FBI can't touch them, if their payment gateway is in the U.S., it would be illegal for them to accept payment from U.S. residents for something that is illegal in this country.

I'm not into porn at all, but if you're an adult and want to view legal porn, I have no problem with that. Child porn, however, sickens and disgusts me.

The thought that I could be prosecuted as a pervert for reporting it and then checking back to see if the site is still there really scares me.

If you said the forum was on an adult site then you will not be responsible. Now if you did a search for that topic and came to the site then yes, they may say what are you looking at? I would still report him. However, I wouldn't take any screen shots because then you have that material on your computer. I would just print it out and mail all the information to the FBI with no return address.

First of all, that site violates no American law whatsoever, so GoDaddy has no reason or responsibility to shut it down.

Second of all, call me the cruelest, most inhumane person on Earth, but I actually laughed pretty hard at some of them. I'm still looking. I know it's not very nice, but some of the pictures are just irresistible.
