Any Good AMD Deals Outside Of Savvis?

For reasons I'd prefer not to disclose, I wish to find a new server outside of the Savvis Data Center. I'd prefer an AMD Athlon or Barton as I want a middle ground between the regular P4 and P4HT.

Are there any reliable semi-managed companies that work out of another data center and offer AMD?

Show me a link to what the hell you are talking about, I keep hearing Savvis, Savvis, Savvis.

    Last time I got a quote it was $7,500 / 100 mpbs.

Just tell us what you are talking about, please.

I want a basic dedicated server - AMD Athlon 3000+ or Barton 3000+...

However, I don't want the company to be reselling from the Savvis data center.

Huh ... what are you talking about? And PSFserver ... if you're paying 7,500 / 100 mbps - you're getting ripped off ... ALOT ... they sell transit at less than 1/2 that price

I said QUOTE, QUOTE, QUOTE. One more time QUOTE.

I have an MBA. There is a known principle in Economics known as supply and demand. Our business seeks QUOTES all the time for certain things. Apparently at the time, their demand was high, so I got the price on the top of the quote sheet.

Who's ranting, I'm just replying to your post. You are the ones talking about transit.

I just wanted to know why I keep hearing SAVVIS?

Does that clear things up for you?

I continually ask the poster about this "SAVVIS". What is so hard to understand? I am curious from a business perspective, because we sent out a large quote to them.

    Things in focus now?

Thanks, I didn't mean to take the thread off course. I thought I asked a pretty simple and straigh-forward question. I guess not.

Wow PSF, you need to calm youself down some more. I just read this and did not understand what you were so angry about either. You too, were vague in stating what was causing you to go wild.

Back on topic, I think Ezzi uses AMD. You should contact them to see if they have any of the higher end AMD servers. I've never used them myself but I have seen numerous offers of theirs and their resellers with AMD servers.

I just set the gentile poster straight that A. I was not paying 7,500 per 100 mpbs and B. I was not being ripped off.

PSFservers ... every thread I get in with you ... your arguments make absolutely no sense ...

"I just set the gentile poster straight that A. I was not paying 7,500 per 100 mpbs and B. I was not being ripped off."

That was my comment to your comment ... but your original comment had nothing to do with what the poster said ...

all you had to say was, it's not savvis servers, its LT servers instead of going on for 10 minutes about this stuff

let me delineate this for you

    1. Last time I got a quote it was $7,500 / 100 mpbs.

you said that in response to his asking for a middle ground between AMD barton and a P4 i believe ...

what the he*ll does a quote you got have to do with that? ....

then you pull up something about your economics major // MBA ... and I was just 1) pointing out that that quote was ridiculous and 2) That your comment was offtopic // irrelevant ...

What country did you get your MBA in?

Yeah Broadband Mand, I think you are confused.

Quite frankley, I didn't know that people here call LayerdTech, LT, or what ever you want to call them "SAVVIS".

If you knew the answer, why didn't you say it in the first place.

I just wanted to know what the poster was taking about and which SAVVIS servers he was talking about. I also included my first hand, and only one time experience with SAVVIS when I brought up the $7,500 QUOTATION.

So, I have learned something. When someone here at WHT says SAVVIS, they are NOT talking about a Tier 1 carrier, BUT they are taking about a dedicated server comapny, namely Layerd Tech!

Thank you, you all are so kind.

    What ...

no when other people on WHT say Savvis they can be talking about the provider ... in this 1 instance ,they are talking about dedicated servers ... is that so hard to fathom?

and what in the world does your quote have anything to do with it? ....

You can simply say, I didn't know savvis sold dedicated servers. Only one I know is the one that sold bw ... we really don't care you asked savvis for a quote

He's looking for a server outside Savvis datacenter, isn't that clear enough?

He isn't talking about any Savvis servers at all. Where did you get that?

What does your quote has to do with this? He's asking for a server. Even if he's asking for a server AT Savvis DC, it still has nothing to do with your quote, let alone he's asking for a server outside Savvis.

I read this thread because I am looking for exactly the same thing: An affordable server outside Savvis DC. Not that I have anything against them, but because all of my servers are currently there (yes they are with LT, but I know LT is not the only company who has server at Savvis), I just want a server to backup. I don't see anything wrong with the first post and it's you I have no idea what you are talking about.

    Why is PSF not banned?

And, as for the Savvis thing, Kamejoko is right. I don't want a server ANYWHERE in Savvis, regardless of the company actually reselling/offering the service.

I'd want ThePlanet or somewhere on the east coast.

**By saying Savvis, LT is included, but it also includes ANYONE who might be reselling from Savvis.

You personally may not care, but I think others may be interested in what SAVVIS is quoting for a 20X20 cage with 100 mpbs.

I asked a question that included a remark. I'm sorry you had not interest in this remark. You cannot assume that other WHT Forums may find the information beneficial.

Therefore, I respectfully request that you direct your remarks to the issue and not the person. I will show you this same respect.

This thread has confused me since the third post.

Someone said that they believed Ezzi.net offers AMD - they're right, although I think atm they only have 2600s available. Liquidweb sometimes has XP boxes in their "specials" section. Also check Fortress/ITX (DedicatedNow). Gl!

The guy was asking about SAVVIS Servers, and I was asking which provider he was about. I related my one and only SAVVIS experience in my post. My post consisted of

1.) A question to the poster.

2.) A remark about my one time experience dealing with SAVVIS.

I don't see what is so mind blowing about it.

there seems to be a huge communications gap here ... we must find a language that we all understand - your experience with savvis has nothing to do with this ... you've muddled the entire thread by bringing it up

No, the guy wasn't asking about Savvis servers. He was asking about servers outside of Savvis (read the topic name). You can either comprehend that as he's asking for dedicated servers (hense in the dedicated servers forums) outside of ANY Savvis datacenter, or outside of the Dallas Savvis [which I think he meant (since many new people often mean the Dallas one when they use 'Savvis Datacenter')].

...but wouldn't you rather stay close to the topic? If it had anything to do about him getting a dedicated server, perhaps it would've been more appropriate. I'm just getting tired of your posts and I fully side with The Broadband Man, although this shouldn't even have been a little war in the first place...

To the topic starter, try to check out the Offers forums. I see a few offers of AMD servers outside of the Savvis datacenter in Dallas.

The only thing I apologize for is fighting with you PSF - i'll just ignore you next time but you're responding with comments regarding colo and transit to a guy who's asking for advice to buying a server outside of the Savvis DC in Dallas (LayeredTech) probably

Anyway to the thread starter, if you want AMD servers

    check out ezzi.net for NYC

www.serveraxis.net for AMD servers off of steadfast's network, dave's a good guy

and if you happen to want a 20X20 cage with 100 mbps - hit up PSF because he has "QUOTES"
