Best country to host in for websites from Brazil?

I am hosting some websites in Europe at the moment, but planning to move to Brazil eventually.

That means I will have two clientgroups because I want to offer hosting for Brazilian clients too. What hostingcountry would be the best for Brazil? I am not counting Brazil, as it seems that hosting there is prohibitively expensive.

What kind of pingtimes do one get from Brazil to the USA?

    Hi

I suppose that Embratel (that owns the brazilian backbone) is connected with MCI.

Please confirm because i am not sure.

    Regards.

If people are trying to serve customers outside of north america, the US is one of the worst places they can host their equipment (generally speaking). If your servers in the US, you have to play by their rules, that means they can instantly add around a dozen countries they cannot do business with.

From the physical distance that may look like a good option, but aside from that, the US isn't a great place for many people outside north america to host.

I would have assumed 151 front street, but it doesen't look like you have anything in Canada, which is what threw me. I went to double check your pages, but they're both down from what I can see...
