If the client does a chargeback once they receive their prize, you're screwed. There are other scenarios where it could go wrong, so you'd need to protect yourself from fraudsters. One thing I've seen done is offering the gift once the client has been with you for say 2 or 3 years, so you've already collected a lot of money from them that they can't chargeback, and they've proven themselves a loyal customer.
If you offer such special gift package to your prospective clients who recommend or refer say 5 to 6 new customers & they sign with you that will be much better instead of attracting the new customers with special gift offer which possibly could go wrong, as HostingInsider is saying.
Originally posted by Torith I see many positive things about offering special gifts (aka 4 day 3 night to Las vegas hotel and flight only paying taxes), but is their anything bad that could come out of this?
It's a good idea, especially if you can convince the Las Vegas Hotel to pay the bill.
If you have the right client base, some hotels might be interested in the extra promotion. Specially in the low season, when they have the extra rooms.
