Do you have a usecpphp file in /var/cpanel/ ?

If not, create it by running the following

    touch /var/cpanel/usecpphp

If you do have the file, run the following

    cp -p /usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/squirrelmail/config/config_default.php /usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/squirrelmail/config/config.php

If that doesn't fix it, try

Do you have the tweak in cpanel set to not allow e-mail from "nobody" ?

Maybe you have some extra Rs in the code?

Post more, we'll try to see where the extra Rs are.
