I think ADSL2+ can go at 25 mbps actually, it's crazy. I dont know when it will be around here, i'd have fiber at my house if Telergy didnt go out of business (the company who planned on doing residential fiber here).

Verizon has just recently rolled out their FIOS (Fiber) in a few communities. You can get more info here http://www.verizonfios.com/. You can get 15 Mbps down, 2 Mbps up for $50.

It will be a VERY long wait and will cost a lot more than that.

Bulldog have 8mb for about 40 , so with the cost of fiber optics and all the rest, we are looking at 200.

However after a few months, prices will plumit. We will just have to wait and see

thats a possibility, although its more likely that theyre mixing that up witht he llu plans to roll out triple play over adsl2 using a 2mbit bes connection for the video. faster bb is in the pipeline at ntl but tornado came on the back of a lot of upgrading ubr's at thats just to get to 3mbit. Their focus is on video on demand and a few other features first
having said that 6 mbit by next yr is definately a possibility, depends on the marketplace which is what really drives these things.
