    Questions about the FDC

How come there the only datacenter to offer Unmetered transfer? Everybody else only offers 1000-1500 gigs while they offer at the same price Unmetered transfer. Can anybody explain this? (i know they oversell bandwith but they are getting more providers as they say) Also are there any other Datacenters that offer Unmetered transfer?

They are not the only provider that sells unmetered servers. Many hosts sell unmetered servers and I believe they are almost as common as gigabyte transfer allowances.

You didn't say anything about a 100Mbps link but that still doesn't change the fact that other providers will do that.

    Check out:
http://www.layeredtech.com/vastSeries.php - You will need to upgrade to a 100Mbps port.

Do a search on FDC and you will soon realise why they are cheap and why they sell unmetered solutions.

factorx, remember even though it is "unmetered" the bandwidth is shared not dedicated so don't expect to push anywhere near 100mbit for anything more than short bursts. Their TOS states to expect around 3000-4500 gigs.

With the current speeds issues I agree but normally you can push 3000GB pretty easily.

Spare me. To get started, it's Cogent. Not Coggent - 1 G. Secondly, I don't even understand what you mean by it's 30% data loss? If you're implying that Cogent has a 30% packet loss rate network-wide you're wrong or even if you're implying that FDC itself has 30% packet loss, you're still wrong. Out of 100 packets sent to their network from my home connection, it dropped 8. Not great, not something I'd ever use, but far from 30%. Then your most ridiculous claim about the site being slow. Clearly the site is slow due to the programming, not the network. If you notice the site responds pretty quick, but due to the amount of queries on the homepage it loads slow.
