    chmod 700 curl lynx GET

    hello

    what do you think about chmod 700 curl lynx GET ?
    may it break cPanel or DirectAdmin?

    shouldnt affect it. GET may however because cpanel uses GET

    Moreover, which fetch utilities should be chmod 700?

    I can think of:

    -wget
    -ftp
    -curl
    -lynx
    -links

    That should be ok, if you have to do a Cpanel/ Fantastico update, just change the permissions, update and then change them back.

    If you find as an Admin you frequently use something like wget, you may want to make a copy to another name that would not be common that you could use.

    or, for fantastico, you can use a copy of wget renamed to some strange name and set fantastico to use it instead of wget.
