It must be so much fun to chase it but it must hurt if you fall.

    No more cheese for us?

Why wer'e the home of Cheddar.

Besides, what's wrong with a bit of tradition and eccentricity every once in a while. That's one thing that makes these islands so great and something i will always fight to protect.

I would happily vote for a political party who promised to ban cheese across the land! I hate the stuff

Everybody knows that Jason is a big fan of cheese...but I would never risk breaking my spine for it.

This recently happened in my town, it's a tradition around here. People do get hurt, but if you catch the cheese you can keep it. (Not trying to justify why anyone would do this)

I went to watch with a couple friends and yes, the hill is steeper than it looks in the photos. People don't run down, they roll untill they roll to a stop [into someone big and sharp, oh and painful] either that or you just plumit. People get injured each year, it's part of this city tradition.

Would it not be much better to just pop down to tesco and buy some off the shelf ?

Yes, but what about the thrill of the chase. You don't often get that in tesco!

Exactly, where's the fun in that?

What next, stop "The World Bog Snorkling Champioships" on health and safety grounds?

Unless the rats beat you to it.

    That's a cheesy competition.

Hint: for those who want to win, wear flat bottomed shoes and get good at balancing. Slide down the hill.

Did you know that the English make about 750 types of cheese, where as the French make about 250 types....and the English ones are obviously better

Perhaps this is a new business incentive for Tesco. They're probably sitting round the directors table right now discussing how we can make the purchasing of cheese more interesting for customers...

But seriously, why the "No more cheese" title, did someone kill all of the cheese trees?
