Getting an US check by mail?

I was approaced by a US company that wants to pay me by check. The deal is that they pay before I start.

They want to send the check by mail to me.

We do not use checks in my country.
So he sends the check by mail and I go to my bank and turn it into my currency? What if the mail loses it?

Do you know how it works, and what the risks are.

Find out how much your bank will charge to accept a US check. Also, they may hold it for a few weeks, to make sure it clears, before releasing the money to you.
Alternately look into International Postal Money Orders. Find out from your post office if they accept them. He would get one from the US post office, mail it to you, and you would cash it at your post office. It could be cheaper & faster than a check. What country are you in?

If the mail does lose it - get it into your contract that he will replace the contract & not charge you a stop payment fee for that check.

Since he wants to pay you by check you should not have to be responsible for that

I looked at it and it is not intresting

Its is $50 checks every month

When changing from $50 to euro I get Euro 39

The bank charges 12 so I keep Euro 27.

That is to much value degrees.

It is only intresting if its more than $250
