    pent2.8 vs pent2.6HT vs AthlonXP2800

    Each has two harddrive of 120 GB each totally 240 GB.
    Each has 1 GB RAM.

    Which is fastest?:
    Intel Pentium IV 2.8GHz
    Intel Pentium IV 2.6GHz Hyper Threading
    AMD Athlon XP 2800

    I don't see a difference in any specs you quoted. There are all good specs.

    Please don't agonize over stuff like this, it is really not important. Processor speed is probably third down on the list of things you need to worry about for a SERVER!

    the first and third processors are different

    You can disable HT until that is resolved regarding the HT and SSL.

    Those articles are for admins on networks who have people sharing machines a web server usually only has one login in anywas root. It is saying if you have a machine with admin , bob and joe that joe can login in and steal info from admin you won't have 3 logins on your dedicated server just one.

    I suggest you go for a newer AMD CPU, those socket 754 or Sokcet 939 ones, they are simply a different class. I am running an athlon 64 with Windows XP SP2, the system is now rock solid, why?

    They have the NX bit to protect you from all kinds of malicious stuff.
