I'm a big fan of Virtuozzo.
I really like it for a few reasons:
1) Low overhead
2) Easy to manage
3) Extensive resource controls
Atleast for our application of it, I haven't really encountered any cons.

Our users never complain about resource problems. Our nodes remain underloaded to allow for safe bursting of resources.

What is your normal load average? How many vps's per machine? What is the hardware? This is all just curiosity, i manage Virtuozzo on a daily basis and i just like to see what performance others are getting out of it.

Can't give out too much for details, each node differs depending on the plans on it, and what customers do.
As for hardware, it does vary. Older nodes are lower end. However, the typical is:
Dual Xeons
RAID5 SCSI
RAM Varies
Current load from one of our nodes is .2, but it does vary from node to node.
