I would like to secure checkout for my online store that I created using Zen Cart. When I purchase an SSL certificate do I just ask my host to install to my domain address or do I need to give a specific address that represents the checkout page? I would ask my host (site5) but since they do not sell SSL certificates they are not offering direct support on this issue.
Re: Where do I install SSL Cert. for Zen Cart Shop?
Originally posted by Cspace I would ask my host (site5) but since they do not sell SSL certificates they are not offering direct support on this issue.
They may not sell certificates but they should at least offer support on installing them, some features they may have to do for you depending on your level of access.
You will need your account on a dedicated IP address (if you are not already on one then this will cost extra from your host), it looks like you are on cPanel so you will need access to WHM to install the certificate. Install guides are available on the cpanel support site as part of the userguide.
Make sure you order the certificate for the correct name that you wish to use ie. with or without the www then edit the settings as CartikaHosting described it.

New Problem- I'm trying to purchase a starter SSL from EV1servers.net and their "Starter SSLenrollment" form is not accepting my "CSR" that was generated in my administration panel on Site5. The form says the following after I try to submit it.
# Please enter a valid CSR
# Common Name does not contain fully qualified domain name.
Does anyone know or interested in explaining what is going on? I copied and pasted exactly what was emailed to me including the "begin" & "end certificate request" as instructed. Im going to try to contact EV1 & Site5 to see iff they can help.
