What's the difference between IRC Ip's & regular ip's
I want to know ,what's the difference between IRC ip's & regular ip's. I heared that irc ip's are ddo's protected as staminus told me.
Is it true. ?
Please answer,i realy appriciate.
Depends on how your server's run.
Many server now change half of the ip or host by some words or random character so other people cannot find your ip in your whois. Only IRCop or admins could know it.
ex: @adsl-22.214.171.124.proxy8.aol.com would be something like: @CoolIRCnetworkName.78.67.proxy8.aol.com
Although it is not a standard on most of the big networks (such as Undernet if you arent registered) the smaller one are almost all working this way nowadays.

There is absolutely no difference between the two - except that Staminus has dDoS protection equipment on one part of their network and not on the other.
That said - this isn't the staminus sales line so contact them with any questions gwsolutions, otherwise we're all just in the boat together: assuming.
