Avoid Jumpline, I recommend AssortedInternet
For the last two years, I have hosted my site with jumpline.com.
Initially, I was thrilled with their service, support, and response time. However, I found that when I had more complicated problems, their support was sorely lacking. It doesn't matter that your response time is less than one hour if your response is useless.
In particular:
**I have never been able to SSH in from a Linux platform; I tried on 4 different computers from 4 different networks. Jumpline was distinctly unhelpful - "its not our problem, its yours"
**I have repeatedly asked jumpline for HTML::Template; they repeatedly responded that it "might be available in the future", but not necessarily soon.
**They lost my data twice, and their backups were always more than two months old. I have had to re-write scripts for my site more than one time.
Recently, jumpline "upgraded" their service. In the process, they lost all of our mail, re-installed two-month old data, lost the DBI programming module and refused to re-install it, set up a "virtual server" system that won't allow the use of scp for file copies, and implemented many other inconveniences. When they told me that they would not re-install DBI and I should re-write all my code to work without it, I started looking for a new hosting provider.
I found assortedinternet.com on webhostratings.com -- where they are rated a 10, but they were only rated by one person. I figured that was a good sign - people usually don't bother to rate services unless they are *unhappy*. For the same price as Jumpline, I was offered more space, more databases, more everything. THEN, when I e-mailed Assorted Internet about DBI and HTML::Template, their response was so refreshing -- "we ought to have it, but we'll be glad to install both for you if we don't" -- that I was immediately sold.
THEN - when I started moving stuff off the jumpline server onto the Assorted Internet server, I got such great support *as well* as a fast response time that I had my entire site working again in *ONE DAY*. Before I switched services, I had struggled with Jumpline for *TWO WEEKS* and had not made any progress in restoring the site they destroyed.
Most of the support Assorted Internet gave me has been simple question and answer, but there are two instances that stand out as extremely helpful -- the un-questioning installation of VIM (as opposed to straight vi) without argument and within hours, and
helping me work around what was offered through the online control panel when it limited my options. With Jumpline, I've been so used to not getting what I want and being thwarted when I try to do anything outside of the control panel that I have been stunned by the speed and *usefulness* of the support at Assorted Internet.
I'm posting everywhere I know to encourage people not to use Jumpline -- or to encourage them to leave Jumpline if they haven't yet. There *are* better hosting providers out there!!! I'm just sorry it took me 2 years to start shopping around....

As far as I can tell, they do not advertise HTML templates with their hosting plans, why would you list it as a bad thing that you didn't get one?
For the backups, that is very bad, it is their fault, but you should keep backups of your files on your computer.
The rest seems legit, but these two points stuck out (to me).
What is your website URL?

Just to clarify, he wasn't asking for HTML templates; he was asking them to install HTML::Template, which is a Perl module that would allow html templates to be used through cgi.
