I have a domain name (eg www.abc.com) mainly use for nameserver purpose.
I am going into both linux and windows hosting. I got my own server colocated at one destination that will be doing windows hosting while the other is a reseller account used for linux hosting.
I have registered and setup 4 nameserver namingly :
ns1.abc.com - 18.104.22.168 (reserved for windows hosting)
ns2.abc.com - 22.214.171.124 (reserved for windows hosting)
ns3.abc.com - 321.321.321.321 (reserved for linux hosting)
ns4.abc.com - 321.321.321.322 (reserved for linux hosting)
I have updated the nameserver record for www.abc.com to have the 4 nameserver as above under my domain registra.
I am using HELM for windows hosting and CPANEL for linux hosting.
Those sites hosted under Windows hosting will be pointed to ns1 and ns2 through their domain registra while those hosted under Linux hosting will be pointed to ns3 and ns4 through their domain registra.
It should work theritically if everything goes fine as per theory. But I have seen some ISP's that tend to query only the first two or so. Have seen this only couple of times so not sure if it is a common habbit.
