Stay away from Canaca.com, there's plenty of negative history with them here.... and if the Canaca.com rep here wants to dispute that, I can try to dig up a ticket that proves that it took two months to even acknowledge an issue that ultimately cost you a good customer.

if for a plain site hosting, Godaddy is the best choice
I heard a lot more negative things about them than positives. But they may be good for a small, regular site. On the other hand, almost any reputable host is good for that.

Some one stated that we either use cheap equipment or that we are overselling.
As far as I can remember we have never used low end servers. We do have servers that have been online for over 5 years, but at the time they were near top of their field.
We have started to retire some of our older virtual servers with new Dual Dual core opteron’s 275
System configuration below:
Dual Dual core opteron’s 275 (4 Real Core’s)
8 300GB Sata drives ( Raid 5 with 2.1 terabytes available)
16GB of ECC Registered Memory ( Some of these new servers still have 8GB)
SATA 3Gb/s RAID Controller SuperTrak® EX8350
3 redundant power supplies in a 3 u case
These are just some of the highlights of our new systems. They are costing us an average of $11,000.00 per server.
As for overselling, this can be debated for another 50 pages. I will just say that we have never suspended an account for using their allocated space or bandwidth.
