How to find out who's hosting the site - refresher needed

    Hi guys!

I'm trying to help another person in another forum track down
someone who allegedly copied his site and is selling his ebook.
The domain name in question is google-machine.com.

I looked up the WHOIS and the domain's using their own DNS.

Assuming the site in question isn't using their own machines, how
do I found out who's "hosting" it, so to speak? Meaning is it using
    colocation or what have you?

    Thanks.

get the IP and whois it at dnsstuff.com

Reliable and helpful as always, Bashar! Thanks!

I just did what you said and supposedly it gave the result as
Deutsche Telekom. If you did the same thing, are you getting the
    same result?

Sorry to bother you, Bashar. It's just that I totally forgot how to
    do this.

    ditto

also report it to google, since google is a TM they can help taking it down if the hosting company don't cooperate.

Here's the site of the one who's complaining about it:

    swapclix.com

Compare that with google-machine.com. Interestingly similar...

Anyway, the complaining party has been told about this and will
contact Deutsche Telekom. All I wanted was to refresh my memory
as to find out how to determine who's hosting a domain's site if
the domain's using its parent name for its DNS.

    I'll keep you posted.
