I have just started playing around with my reseller account (hostgator), on the verge of something great i hope. I have found my way around parking my domains and adding emails etc. I have also installed one of the site builder templates from Fantastico.
I have got myself a copy of Dreamweaver MX 2004 to try and get to grips with and i want to use this to edit my website via ftp.
My question is... How do i congifure Dreamweaver to see my web site that i have installed via fantastico so that i can edit and uplad etc...? I havent made any changes to the ftp settings within CPanel in my reseller account if that means anything.
In addition to the above, once you have your FTP settings properly configured for your site, you should see your site view in the right hand column. If you go to remote view you can see all the files that constitute the web site (provided you set up the proper path in your configuration).
It sounds as if you built your site online and your html files and images are on a remote server and not on your hard drive. I would download the images from the remote view and pull them down locally so you can work with and make changes to them locally and then post your changes as you make them.
