I don't know why but cPanel is a pain in the a$$ to install. Every single time I install cPanel it never installs properly.
Today I installed CentOS 3.4 and then installed cpanel using the setup guidlines. Then the kernel had a panic. I formatted the server again with CentOS 3.4 and installed cPanel but HTTPD and some services wouldnt work. I didnt want to bother fixing them and then I installed CentOS 4.0 and ran cPanel setup. Cpanel finished the setup and I restarted the server. This time.... I dont even know what is wrong because it gave a huge error when it boots about exim and httpd.
This is what I do to install the CentOS and cPanel. Please tell me if I do anything wrong....im just a novice.
1. Insert CD1 and install CentOS with minimal server installation
2. After the server restarts I install cPanel.
And after that cPanel installs correctly once in a blue moon. But recently it wont install properly at all.
httpd gives the following error:
[/]# service httpd restart
/etc/init.d/httpd restart: httpd not running, trying to start
/etc/init.d/httpd: line 123: /usr/local/apache/bin/httpd: No such file or directory
/etc/init.d/httpd restart: httpd could not be started [/]#
Please do a search about cpanel exim related to md5 checksum in CentOS 4.0... ...
