    Hackers

If a potential threat, could get into a cPanel account and have full control of a site, in what ways could you prevent them in doing it again? I am not talking about changing anything about your account to stop them, I am talking about getting back at them. Could the owner of the website go to the police? What would they do, what would they need and what is the process? Has anyone been in a situation like this before?

Contact your host and ask them to config your account so only a specific ip range can login to your account.

Yes they could, but you have to have all logs, evidence, etc.

So the person reporting the crime would have to have all the logs and such? They couldn't make an online investigation or look up history or anything?
