Can I process Credit Crds on Blackberry in Bahamas?
I have a friend who just started a new shipping business to the Bahamas from the U.S. (Miami, Fl.) & he told me that he would like to be able to process credit cards through his Blackberry when he's down in the Bahamas. he said that if he could accomplish this than it would be an easir way for him to charge his clients that reside in the Bahamas. Does anyone know if this is possible and what I should tell him to look into to have this done? Thanks.
I think he's starting from scratch and looking for advice- all he told me was that he has a Blackberry with Cingular that gets service from the US while he's in the Bahamas & was looking for a way to process customers cards while he was making stops in the Bahamas. I don't think he has a gateway yet and is looking for some references to getting the correct one. As far as swiping goes I think that he will use whatever means are available to him through the Blackberry. I'm not sure what you mean by a "virtual terminal", would this just be a way to enter a CC nuber through the cell phone touchpad? Since I posted I found a device called "Comstar CHARGE ANYwhere" which seems to be a swipe add on for Blackberrys.
Sounds like a plan. Some gateways' virtual terminal websites should be able to work as well. (It might be a bit difficult to read though) Once he gets the swipe though, he should be able to get a merchant account with a swiped rate though - a bit cheaper than an internet / MOTO account though
