Always best to get you info from the source.

    Good luck...

First check in your NameCheap account to see if the domain name in question is included. If not, then you need to contact NameCheap support as soon as possible.

If the name is important, I would try again to register it through NameCheap and worry about the double charge later.

BTW, many whois sources are delayed and/or cached. They are not authoritative sources to see if a name is actually available.

Contact NameCheap in this case. If their system did a charge to your card send them a support email and they should manually register the domain for you.

If you are charged and domain is not registered their system must have recorded it.

Try doing a whois at http://www.enom.com/domains/whois.asp

This will allow you to get the best answer regarding whether the domain is infact registered since namecheap is a reseller for enom.
