Virtual hosts not working, only default page is showing.. :(
The server is Debian Sarge with Apache 1.3x. The problem now is that even I created accounts, and the <virtualhost> part is set correctly in httpd.conf, access to domain.com still doesn't show the proper pages. Only the default page is there.
Because I am using a free control panel (VHCS), with Apache 1.3x which isn't supported by the default installation. So I'm not sure where the problem is.
Could anyone suggest me any locations / files to start look at in order to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance!
P.S. Yes I've already asked on the VHCS forum, but since WHT is more popular so I posted here too. Hopefully someone would have some nice ideas.
First restart Apache, /path/to/apache/bin/apachectl restart
If that doesn't fix it then open /path/to/apache/conf/httpd.conf in a text editor. If you are using name based virtual hosting you must put the following line in with your ip address that is being used for apache.
Now take a look at <virtualhost>, it should look something like this:
Now once you confirm your <virtualhost> is setup correctly make sure that the folder you specified as DocumentRoot exists and is readable by Apache. Now create a test index.html file in that directory. Lastly restart Apache again. Things should be working.
