in need of a very high end machine

I have been researching for months now trying to find reliable providers with the best hardware. I am launching a high end game server provider, so I am in need of the BEST and newest hardware. So far it looks like I have found a good texas provider and currently negotiating with 15minservers for nj.

What, I am asking for is recommendations for other locations (USA) that are on the top notch networks (for gaming, which means low pings) that have these specs:

2 x Opteron 275 (These are the new dual core opterons)
    6-8 GB DDR Ram
    36 SCSI Drive

    or

    2 x Opteron 252
    6 GB DDR Ram
    36 SCSI Drive

Basically, the important locations are Chicago/Florida/Los Angelos/Virginia/San Jose/Seattle

I would think most of these providers could give you a custom quote on the hardware you need. It might be more cost-effective to co-locate though.

    Chicago:

    Liquidweb
    Steadfastnetworks

    Florida:

    Sagonet
    HiVelocity

    California:

    Servepath
    Staminus

    Virigina:

Nice specs...but why no RAID...I thought game/map loading time was important?

    tkam,

I had thought liquidweb was in Michigan?

//I second his steadfastnetworks recommendation though!

steadfast's best server are the new nocana xeons, not really what im looking for. Also game/map loading time is important, but I dont need more than one harddrive. maps take up very little space, so for someone to fill up even 100mb of maps would be a stretch.

you could easily fill well over 100mb for maps, just 10 CS maps could fill 50-100mb

Another note, I will be catering to professional gamers, not the normal public server gamers that just like to fool around and play custom maps

Pro gamers don't buy pubs though =p

In any event I agree with the post above saying co-location is really the best thing for you. Also I would look to trying to make a service like Velocity's boosted servers.

www.SteadfastNetworks.com - Great pings in the USA. Located in Chicago.

SteadfastNetworks uses Savvis + Level3 combination which is awesome for gaming.

I'm surprised Rackspace didn't get mentioned. They are the highest price, but their support is never a let down and their network is fantastic.
