    Create .htaccess ?

    hi everyone

    I wanna create a .htaccess for my site, but not sure how to do it, anyone help me please ? Thanks.


    p/s: Example: when my user go to my site, then they will be requested for log in, and the log in infomation (user + pass) are posted in the windows log in.

    My server is linux and cpanel, thanksa

    Why not use the* password protect dirs* feature from Cpanel ?
    It does the same thing you ask for, it creates a .htaccess file
    with username/password for a certain (or all) web folders.

    Anry is right, this is the easiest way to achieve what you are looking to do. Otherwise just create a file in any text editor and save it as .htacess

    Put your htaccess directives inside for whatever you want it to do.

    i knew it, but how do you pretect your public_html or www folder ?
