Belkin KVM IP Console Factory Reset

I recently bought a Belkin Omniview Enterprise Quad Bus Series Remote IP Console.

Ive managed to login as the config user via serial however I dont know the password for any of the other users and the default login doesnt work.

I opened it up and notice there is a jumper with a cap sitting across one of the pins. I am tempted to stick it across both the pins in an attempt to factory reset the unit so I can login with the default password. Does anyone have any advice about this? Belkin didnt seem to helpful as this is 2nd user kit off ebay.

Probably you might have to contact the vendor. They will give to you over the phone if you provide your serial number.

YES, it works!

I was having a similar problem with my Belkin remote KVM. Indeed, your idea will work! So, have no fear - take it apart and give it a try.
Good luck!

Good job it isn't like the Avocent/HP KVMoIP boxes, there is no way to reset them except for having them re-flashed.

Just confirming that this does indeed work for anyone unlucky enough to have one of these pieces of crap (albeit 4 years after the last post here! I couldn't find ANYTHING else. Even Belkin has seemed to ditch these. No support.)

To be a little more specific. We jumpered, turned the kvm on until the status lights were blinking. Powered it off (pulled the plug) and unjumpered and then turned it back on. From that point, the factory settings came up and we were able to connect with the unit using 1.2.3.4 in the browser after setting our ip address to 1.2.3.1/24 (or 1.2.3.1 netmask 255.255.255.0.)

Hooray and finally!
