When you need a script, where do you go?
When you are looking for a custom script to be done and you have specific requirements is there a spot where you might go to start a bidding job or seek bids on?
Yes I know, "Why not post it here?". Well i get tiered of dealing with the 20 sum PMs that say "hezz doode I do your script fur $20 bucks in 2 hours".
Just looking for alternative spots to shop. Post your past experiences with your favorite hangouts.

I tried out RentACoder.com from a coder's perspective, and .. well, I wasn't too pleased with it. It's too impersonal, and they impose a lot of restrictions about your contact information, etc. I see the reason for it - to protect their buyers and coders - but a lot of it seems to be that they want to protect their "cut" of the action (which is kinda high, IMO).
If I were in your position, I'd develop a relationship with a coder you like who can handle most of the work you need done. Trustworthy coders are out there, but - as always - caveat emptor. Cheapest may not always be best.Paul Embry

When I want custom scripts I go to:
Start > All Programs > Graphics & Design > Crimson Editor
=)
I like to do all my work myself, but for hiring coders, I've heard good things about rentacoder.com

Its nice when you can write your own, but of course now that I can, Im too busy writing code for other people to even have time for my own projects.

I've used rentacoder a lot but have had a lot of projects that were never finished by the coder. So I started accepting multiple bids to ensure it gets done. Even if you have to pay more than one coder (only happened to me once out of over a dozen projects) then you can choose the better of the bunch. And then use that coder on your next projects. I've had worse luck with elance and scriptlance but other buyers like it. Stormraven u r probably a good programmer so don't need all the protection they provide at a cost but it wouldn't work without it. The commission is less if you do private projects and most jobs get bigger after they are started (funny how that happens) so often you will get paid by 'instant bonus' which only has 5% commission.
