I whole-heartedly second subigo's DirectAdmin suggestion. I use DirectAdmin on all of my servers. DirectAdmin is very cheap (Under $200 for a lifetime license), but it works like a CHARM! I have some demo accounts that you can use if you'd like to see it for yourself. http://220.127.116.11:2222

DirectAdmin installs AND configures all of the necessary tools for a webserver/FTP server. It installs Apache and ProFTPd and automatically builds and configures the servers and modules. All it takes to update Apache is a few clicks in the Admin panel, or just use the script in the shell. Best control panel I've ever used - And it looks ALOT better than the bleak, dreary WHM.
I used to be a cPanel fan but have to chip in here and agree with all the others in this thread. Regardless of whether the server is for just you or for reselling hosting, Direct Admin just looks better and it's layout is more straightforward.
Having said that, it sounds from the first post that swingtrader already has the server and the cPanel control panel, so I'm not sure what purpose our enthusiastic recommendations will serve!
Sorry swingtrader, why don't I try!
I used to use a VPS with WHM / cPanel for just my sites and used WHM to add the domains directly to the panel (ie. no resellers were set up).
Then it was just a matter of logging in to cPanel using the username I setup when I created each domain for managing things like email.
You could always just have one user account and add all the extra domains in as add-on domains but you lose an awful lot of features that you may want to set differently for each domain so I would go with my first suggestion.
