BFD Reporting
Should you report BFD attempts and if so to who?
Secondly, is it really worth the effort to report it?
Thanks

Reporting these events is a tricky debate, and , in most cases a fruitless endeavor.
Why?
Many of these IP's are owned by overseas (non US) ISP's who have no concern whatsoever regarding security. In fact, in MANY of those countries , hacking is "encouraged", and the attitude of "if you don't patch it, then it's legal to hack" is taken.
If it's a US ISP that is behind the attack (or the attack routes from a US IP), then by all means, send the abuse report, but if not, in most cases you're wasting your time.
How to get information? Use the arin whois database (www.arin.net), which will show you abuse contacts for whatever IP address you're getting info on, as long as it's US based.Tom Whiting, WHMCS Guru extraordinaire
