This is just a simple account of my first six months with RS Hosting. I was initially wondering if I should promote this company as in fact that is what this review will amount to as I have nothing negative to say. This is advice specifically aimed at anybody who is purchasing web server space with regard to price being the main factor in consideration.
I first came to RS hosting through Webhostingtalk where we offered some design work in exchange for hosting. As the service was so good and reliable I am now a paying client. I've been with RS hosting for six months and I just wanted to point out the pitfalls of going with a lower cost host.
The main thing that you need is reliability, and you need questions answered. Tonight for example 30 emails were sent to me in a technical discussion with regards to DNS issues and moving websters. All promptly and immediately replied to.
Whilst I am sure there are many many fine hosting companies I just want to make the general case that in my experience I have only received this level of service after going to a company that perhaps is not the lowest cost but it is the reliability that is what is important. I really cannot say one single negative thing, I read another six month review and there was one small point he mentioned about automating the payment system, it would be useful but it is no major gripe as far as I am concerned.
RS Hosting have saved me thousands of dollars worth of design work, we had a situation where a member of staff caused the deletion of programming work and ongoing design work that had not yet been backed up. This loss would have caused us to have had to redo all the work, we were at fault for not having the proper backups locally but thanks to RS Hosting's reliable backup system, we were able to restore all our work thus saving us having to redo all the programming work.
This kind of issue is what you never expect, such things as virus prevention, and having your server properly configured so that it is fast and speedy, it is all these issues that you don't necessarily think about when choosing a hosting company. We are having our own clients and we will use RS Hosting to manage our own server in the near future, that is how good we feel this company is.
In conclusion I hope that this serves as a reminder to potential clients who are looking for a new host to not just consider the lowest cost as being a deciding factor. I would advise to go for a company with a good reputation. Obviously I am only speaking from my own experience and I am sure there are many other excellent companies out their, but if RS Hosting benefit from my review which is essential a glowing endorsement then I am happy and 100% confident you will be happy with the level of support.
Thankyou to RS Hosting for their excellent service and fast response. If anybody has read the earlier six month review posted by another client of RS Hosting, I basically share that other clients experiences with this company and endorse that six month review also.
Dumb question, sorry I'm new
Is RS hte name or are you talking about RackSpace.com? Just asking becasue I'm about to sign up with them and a positive review of their service would it make easier for me to part with my money
RS Hosting is not the same thing as Rackspace.com. They are two distinct separate entities as far as I am aware. My advice to you would be to use the "search function" key in any name you want to research and you will usually find plenty of references. If on the other hand you don't find anything on a particular company it could possible mean they are relatively new and untried.
I wish you luck with your choice. Try putting up a post saying " Does anybody know about this company...(company name)? I am sure a lot of people will be only too glad to give their opinions.
So now there's an issue with fixing a problem? Every host makes a mistake at some point. I don't see how them not updating one link says anything about the quality of their hosting and support. If you reported this via their help desk, you would have seen that.
