I have a new installed server. I use it as a proxy server but want to serve some personal pages too. I have a domain name registered with EV1 and a basic PLESK on the server.
And now my questions:
1. If I want to access my server as : server1.mydomain.com. How can I do this if I have only the mydomain.com and it points to an other server?
2. Now mydomain.com uses now an other nameserver. How can I use my own server as nameserver?
Another solution is to outsource your DNS to a third party which gives you complete control over the delegation of host addresses. Outsourcing to someone, such as ZoneEdit, would also provide a little bit of redundancy.

You can simply ask the current company who is managing the DNS for your domain to change the A record and the MX record and point them to the IP address of your current server in case you want the domain pointing completely to this server.
And what can I do if the old server is not mine? I have only a reseller hosting account there.
I presume with having a reseller account at your old/current host you do have a dns control option in your control panel correct? If so simply add the records via it then. If not then I would highly suggest you see if they will enable that option on it. Of course this is unless they haven't even given you so much as webmin dns access to your domain (at the very least which would leave you add your own records in any case).
