support seems indeed takes hours to get a response

what support channel we should use better?
    email?
    PIMS system?

The offer will be good at least throughout this week, we have not determined how long we will continue it beyond that.

I just checked the queue, and there are no tickets right now which haven't been answered by a technician. If you require immediate support, I would always suggest giving us a call. Email and PIMS both go to the same system, athough resolution times will be fastest through PIMS as we won't need to verify your identity and can fix the issue immediatey.

are you installing the latest version of Plesk for Windows 7.5.x ?

  5. #30

    So far so good, but...

I'm quite happy with LW thus far... My server was ready to go about 10 hours after I ordered it, was configured pretty much the way I asked.

I submitted two trouble tickets with questions (including the aforementioned ram issue) and both were handled within a couple hours.

The only thing I've now discovered is that I'm missing the second backup drive. I added that on when my order was confirmed so it may have been missed by the setup techs. I'm sure a trouble ticket will get it fixed quickly.

All in all, after my first 24 hours I would give them a big thumbs up!

    another question I have....

Will LiquidWeb aggregate bandwidth calculation across multiple servers ?

ie) if I get two servers and they each come with 1000GB of bandwidth a month....does that mean I get 2000 total between them? (the reason i ask...is that if one server is a SQL box...and the web server is going directly to that for data...then the SQL box internet bandwidth will be minimal each month.)

I have been with liquidweb for over a year and have had the best in support and my server has always ran great.

When I get ready to expand I will stay with them,, for a new server,

We are currently installing Plesk 7 - we have been waiting to move to 7.5 until both Windows 2003 SP1 was out and a bugfix release for 7.5 was out. 7.5.2 was just released and after testing, we will be moving to that release. There is no ETA however.

    Hi

I wonder how much space is available for use after OS installation (supposing CentOS with cPanel) on a 120 GB hard drive ?

    Thanks,

    bmd2k1,
We don't combine bandwidth between multiple servers.

    CubaManiac,
The remaining time on your VPS account would get credited to your dedicated server account.

The offer is still valid, and we don't offer any 15,000GB plans.

Glad to hear you are happy CubaManiac!

    Zac,

I plan to take the double ram offer and order the server. But just a very simple question:

How does your Professional Plan 1 Dual Xeon 2.66 HT compare with my current server below?

    P4 - 2.4Ghz - Redhat Enterprise - cPanel - 2-80GBHD - 1 GB RAM from ev1.

Someone told me the 2.66 is older technology. Could you please give me a brief explaination?

    Thanks!
    Thanks!

Sounds like someone is giving you double-talk.

Both the P4 2.4 & a Dual Xeon 2.66 are "old" technology and from that point-of-view, the DX is definitely the better computer.

Looks like I can afford the better "old" technology. :-)

Thanks for your reply Rob. So Dual Xeon 2.66 is decent? Not out of date, right?

Many Hosters are using DX 2.66, myself included. And being as LW is providing ECC RAM (top of the line RAM), the offer to double it is a very good offer indeed.

as far as i know, it's still very decent and not out of date

when it's really out of date i would think big hosters like LW won't use those but for example any higher processor above the 3

    but that's my opinion tho

Xeon 2.66s are not outdated at all. They aren't the very latest processors either though - Intel's new dual-core CPUs are. When you look at price to performance though, the Xeon 2.66s still come out on top. They have quite a lot of life left in them IMO.

    * Highly recommended!

I've been with LiquidWeb for a full week and all I can say is that I'm thoroughly satisfied. The server (Pro2) is handling the loads just fine with lots of room to spare!

Support thus far has been first rate; prompt responses, and accurate answers have certainly been a welcome change for me!

    Keep up the good work!
